2014 The Twenty-Second Day

Up and out early!  I needed to do a big distance today.  There were two choices for campgrounds, one at 60 kms and the other at 115 in Vendrome.  I decided to try for the 115 and I made it by 5:30.  I also passed 1500 kms, last year’s distance.
The road was as flat as a pancake and as straight as
an arrow; pretty much fixed gear the whole way. Vendrome was a nice town with a unique triple tower complex that included the cathedral.
At the campground I met a charming couple, David from Michigan and Aidee (Iday) from Brazil.  David had gone to Brazil as a Peace Corps assignment.  Aidee was his boss.  He retired several years ago and they are travelling the world by car and tent.  They have a beautiful home in Natal, Brazil.  Aidee offered Brazilian coffee that I greedily accepted.  We exchanged e-mails in the morning.
The e-mail problem continues.  I am not sure how to contact Isabelle and Marie Line.  Right now it looks like I will make Niort on Friday.

Much joy!!!
